Inspired by a neighbor’s transformative reconstructive surgery and shaped by a family rooted in medicine, he pursued a career in plastic surgery from a young age. A native of coastal Virginia, Dr. Blanchard brings a deep understanding of surgical intricacies and a passion for helping others to his practice, which he established in his hometown area after completing rigorous training at the Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine and the University of Tennessee.

Personal Life
Dr. Blanchard was very young when he chose a career in plastic surgery after learning of a neighbor’s reconstructive miracle following an accident. Dr. Blanchard is from a medical family and learned much about patient care by observing his father interact with patients in the office and the hospital. His brother joined his father in practice. His sister, Christine Marcuson, MD, is a dermatologic Mohs surgeon who practices in Williamsburg.
One of the things that Dr. Blanchard enjoys most about plastic surgery is that it offers continuous challenges. He acknowledges that every patient is different, and procedures have to be tailored to the individual needs of each patient. His philosophy is to educate his patients so that they may become involved in the decision-making process regarding the proposed surgery.
Dr. Blanchard is a native Tidewater Virginian. He was born in Norfolk, grew up in Williamsburg, and graduated from Hampden Sydney College. His lifelong goal was to return to coastal Virginia, develop his surgical practice, and raise his family. Dr. Blanchard and his wife Lauren live in Seaford with their growing family. The family enjoys many outdoor activities, including boating and fishing.
