Thigh & Buttock Lift Surgery in Hampton Roads
At Plastic Surgery Center of Hampton Roads, thigh and buttock lift surgery is performed under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis unless otherwise advised based on personal health needs and the severity of the sagging to be corrected.
In this procedure, your surgeon will make careful, specifically placed incisions in and around the thigh and buttock area. The particular design or location of the incisions varies widely depending on your particular procedure, taking into account clothing and personal desires. To lift the inner thigh, short incisions are made from the anterior part of the thigh/groin crease to the crease of the buttock. Lateral or anterior thigh lifts can be performed as one procedure or two separate ones as desired. In lifting the buttock, the location of the incisions can be at the top or bottom depending on your preference.
After your procedure, you will be placed in a compression garment to help reduce swelling and protect your results post-surgery. In the following weeks, you should continue to wear this garment until the time specified by your surgeon. If you require oral pain medication to manage discomfort in the first few days after your surgery, your surgeon will provide you with any necessary prescriptions. It’s important to have a friend or family member in your household to help you during the first few days after surgery. Bruising and swelling are common but will usually subside within a month, and you can return to normal activity within 6-8 weeks.
