Financial Information

At the Plastic Surgery Center for Hampton Roads, we want to make paying for your procedures easy and convenient. While the decision to have plastic surgery, and which surgeon to choose, should not be based on the lowest price tag, your wish to improve your appearance should also not be impacted by financial obstacles.

Cosmetic Consultations

When scheduling a consultation, a $100 deposit is taken over the phone at the time of scheduling. This deposit can be used towards your procedure, and we can discuss your payment options with you. If you are seeking a procedure that involves insurance billing and pre-authorization, we will collect a specialist co-pay during your initial visit.

Financial Policies

We encourage you to read the following policies for payment, financing, and cancellation before scheduling your procedure. Please contact us at 757-873-3500 with any questions.

QUOTES

The proposed surgeon’s fee will be valid for 90 days from date of consultation. All other fees are subject to change at any time.

DEPOSIT TO SCHEDULE SURGERY

A non-refundable scheduling fee is required at the time of scheduling your surgery or non-invasive procedure. $500 will be due in order to schedule your procedure and will be applied toward your surgery balance. The balance will be collected 3 weeks prior to your surgical procedure (usually the day of your preoperative history and physical). Please note the $500 deposit is non-refundable even:

  • If you choose to cancel your surgery for any reason before your preoperative history and physical
  • If you decide to cancel your surgery for any reason after your preoperative history and physical, (unless you are not cleared for surgery by an outside Physician and cannot reschedule).
  • If surgery is cancelled less than 3 business days prior to surgery. You will also still be liable for Operating room, and anesthesia fees.

SURGICAL PAYMENTS

All payment for cosmetic procedures is due and payable 3 weeks prior to surgery. Payment can be made in the form of a certified check made payable to PSCHR, cash, Visa, Discover, American Express, MasterCard or a supported financial company such as Care Credit.

The balance due for non-invasive or minimally invasive procedures (Bodytite, Facetite, Ulthera and Cellfina) is due 3 weeks prior to the procedures, OR as discussed with your patient counselor.

INSURANCE COVERAGE

The benefits paid by insurance companies for plastic surgery vary greatly from carrier to carrier and plan to plan. Therefore, we make every effort to determine in advance if insurance coverage exists. We ascertain the projected insurance payment and the required co-payment. We do this because we believe you need to be as informed as possible before surgery. We know you realize that you are ultimately responsible for the full payment of your account, but we have found that our knowledge and experience can be an important factor in assisting you to collect your maximum benefits.

CANCELLATION POLICY

We understand that a situation may arise that could force you to postpone or cancel your surgery. Please understand that such changes affect not only your surgery but other patients as well. If you need to cancel your surgery after your History & Physical but more than 6 days before surgery, you are entitled to a full refund, less any surgery deposit made. Should you find it necessary to cancel your surgery after your History & Physical and 3 business days or less before surgery, you will be penalized any surgery deposit made, as well as the operating room fee and anesthesia fee.

REVISION POLICY

From time to time as an executive and discretionary measure, fees may be waived to assist patients in achieving their goals, and this in no way indicates an admission of negligence or sub-standard care. Very often, the surgeon and patient agree that a revision is needed and the surgeon will waive his fee. When anesthesia is needed for a revision, the patient is usually responsible for the anesthesiologist’s fees. Implant costs when the patient desires to be bigger are the patient’s responsibility. Consideration of waived fees for revisions requires you keep all postoperative appointments and that you demonstrate that postoperative instructions were followed.
