Chemical Peels

Home » Med Spa » Face Treatments » Chemical Peels

A chemical peel is a cosmetic procedure where a chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove the top layers. Peels can be done on the face, neck or hands. They are generally used to reduce fine lines, treat wrinkles, improve the appearance of mild scars, treat certain types of acne, reduce skin discoloration and even out skin tone. All of them improve the look and feel of the skin.

Chemical peels can be performed alone or combined with other cosmetic treatments. They are designed to go to a specific depth of the skin, from light to deep. Light options are usually more gentle and may require more than one treatment to reach the desired results. Deeper options offer more dramatic results but have longer downtime.

Gloss Peel (BLT Peel)

The Gloss Peel refreshes stressed skin with a unique synthesis of a pain-free TCA, salicylic acid and vitamin A. It is a comfortable, superficial chemical peel designed to lighten skin and improve skin texture while helping to restore your youthful glow. It is perfect two weeks before your big event.

The Gloss Peel is applied during an office visit, and there is no pain and little-to-no irritation during the application. It is complemented with a take-home product kit tailored to maximize the results of your treatment.

Downtime due to peeling and redness lasts from two to five days. No strenuous exercise for the next 24-48 hours after the treatment. Wait until the peeling is complete before having any other facial procedures. No more than two treatments per year are recommended, and treatments should be at least six months apart.

Invisapeel Lunchtime Peel

Invisapeel Intensive Resurfacing Peel is a unique, at-home optionformulated to show no apparent signs of peeling or irritation. It is perfect for reviving dull-looking skin. It leaves the skin noticeably softer and brighter. Additionally, it is suitable for all ages, skin types and conditions.

Some of the main benefits of this treatment include that it enhances the results of topical agents, optimizes and accelerates treatment results and improves skin barrier function. Invisapeel smooths uneven, rough-textured skin, minimizes hyperpigmentation, reduces flakiness, replenishes moisture, and stimulates epidermal renewal.

This treatment is not just for the face and can easily be applied to other skin surfaces, such as the hands, arms, and legs. Invisapeel can be used as a continuous part of your skincare routine and can be used 2-3 times per week.

Melange Mini Peel

Great for skin that is prone to breakouts or has pigmentation issues, the Melanage Mini Peel is a gentler option with less downtime. Peeling is typically done after a week. Because it is gentler, a series of 3-4 treatments is generally recommended to achieve optimal results.

The Melanage Mini Peel is designed to improve the texture of the skin, uneven skin tone, fine lines and wrinkles. It treats dermal melasma, reduces the appearance of brown spots, diminishes acne lesions and scarring and improves textural concerns and pore size through collagen stimulation. The patient can expect a brighter complexion overall.

This treatment uses weak acids combined with potent non-acidic ingredients that do not burn, wound, or injure the skin, making it great for patients looking for a shorter recovery time or with more sensitive skin. Although most patients experience peeling with about a week of downtime, not every patient will notice peeling. A series of 4 treatments, four weeks apart, is generally recommended for optimal results.

ZO® Peels

ZO® peels offer a highly effective method to exfoliate the skin and foster the growth of fresh, new, healthy cells. We offer three types of ZO® peels that offer various intensities and results. The type you choose will be based on what improvement you want to see, the downtime you can afford to take, and the level of irritation you can tolerate.

ZO® 3-Step Stimulation Peel

The ZO® 3-Step Peel is an innovative, in-office treatment peel followed by an at-home treatment to combat the signs of aging and skin discoloration. The peel is a blend of exfoliants, retinol and multi-action agents to help improve skin health and treat many signs of aging. The peel provides antioxidant protection as well as visible anti-irritant benefits.

This powerfully effective peel treats fine lines, sun damage, dull skin, Melasma, acne, and uneven texture concerns. It is safe and effective for all skin types and has been demonstrated to have effective and long-lasting results.

Following the procedure, your skin will be red and feel dry for one or two days. Between days three and six, your dead skin will slough off. To maintain results, the peel should be repeated 2-3 times per year.

ZO® Controlled Depth Peel

The ZO® Controlled Depth Peel™ was developed to stimulate the dermal and epidermal layers maximizing collagen production. Damaged skin peels away to reveal a smoother texture and more even tone. The peel resurfaces damaged skin by causing superficial cells to peel away, resulting in a tighter, smoother, more even complexion.

The procedure takes about 45 minutes and is performed in an operating room with light sedation. A moderate burning sensation persists for about 10 minutes, then fades into the feeling of a tolerable sunburn.

You should plan for one week of downtime, with redness lasting for the week and fading to a pink that can remain for a few additional weeks. Peeling occurs for one to two weeks after the procedure. Patients should avoid exercise, excessive sweating and sun exposure for one to two weeks following this procedure. Redness and swelling may be evident for up to 30 days following the procedure.

ZO® Stimulator Treatment Lunchtime Peel

The ZO® Stimulator Peel is the perfect “lunchtime” peel because it is quick and has no downtime. This peel is made up of a combination of lactic, citric, and salicylic acid to exfoliate the skin while stimulating collagen and elastin growth. This enzymatic peel with AHA and BHA improves dull complexion and brightens skin.

The ZO® Stimulator Peel stimulates cellular turnover, reducing fine lines and wrinkles and improving overall skin tone, texture and clarity. This skin peel is superficial and is ideal for reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles, acne, pore size reduction, age spots and improving skin’s texture and tone.

This peel can be performed as often as once a week. We recommend once a week for about four weeks. After that, you can do the facial for routine maintenance every four to six weeks. Expect to see excellent results.
