When people hear “awake liposuction,” they often think it’s a shortcut—quick, easy, no anesthesia. But like any procedure, it needs to be done for the right reasons, on the right patients, and with the right expectations.

I offer awake liposuction as part of my practice because I’ve seen firsthand how effective it can be—when it’s done thoughtfully. This isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution. My goal is not to sell a procedure. It’s to deliver results that are in line with what’s safe and achievable.

Over the years, I’ve developed a very clear understanding of which areas respond best to awake liposuction. For me, this procedure shines when used in smaller, localized areas, particularly under the chin or in the upper arms, where the fat pad is defined and the skin has enough elasticity to bounce back. In these cases, patients can get beautiful contour improvements with a relatively easy recovery—and all while avoiding general anesthesia.

But I’m just as quick to say no as I am to say yes. I don’t recommend awake liposuction for areas like the abdomen or larger treatment zones where general anesthesia may be safer or more comfortable and effective. It’s not about offering less—it’s about offering the right treatment for the best outcome.

So, if you’ve been curious about awake lipo, know this: my job is to help you determine not just what’s possible—but what’s best for you. If you’re a good candidate, we’ll talk through what to expect and create a plan that fits your goals. And if it’s not the right fit, I’ll be honest with you about that, too.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not about selling a procedure. It’s about doing what’s right—and doing it well.
