Did you know that many women who visit our office considering either breast augmentation or a breast lift could actually benefit most from a combination of both procedures? The breast augmentation with lift combines two of the most popular breast enhancement surgeries to provide both volume and reshaping.
Am I a Good Candidate for Breast Lift with Augmentation?
If you have had children, experienced weight fluctuations, or are experiencing age-related breast changes, you may be starting to consider your breast enhancement options. A breast lift with augmentation can restore your breasts to a more youthful position, in addition to adding volume and shape.
You may be an ideal candidate if:
- Your breasts have a droopy or “deflated” appearance
- Lifting the tissue alone would not give you your desired look
- You would like to restore fullness to the upper part of your breast
- You are in general good health and at or near your ideal weight
The first step in finding out if a breast lift with augmentation will address your concerns and meet your goals is consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon.
Your Breast Lift with Augmentation Options
During your personalized consultation with one of our experienced plastic surgeons, we’ll listen to your concerns and help you understand your options. For breast lift with augmentation surgery, you will need to determine which breast implant options are right for you, in addition to understanding the breast lift technique that is best-suited to your needs. Your surgeon will make recommendations based on your natural anatomy and desired outcome.
When it comes to choosing your breast implants, there are a number of factors that will affect the final appearance of your breasts. Implant size, material, shape, and profile should all be considered, and we can help you determine the perfect fit for you.
Types of Breast Lifts
The type of breast lift most appropriate for you will depend on the level of breast sagging or excess skin you are experiencing. There are four main types of breast lifts: crescent lift, peri-areolar lift, vertical lift, and anchor lift.
Most often for breast lift with augmentation patients, a crescent lift or peri-areolar lift is used, and your implants are placed through the same incisions made during the lift.
What to Expect from Breast Lift with Augmentation Surgery
This procedure is performed under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis, meaning you can return home (with a designated driver!) on the same day.
Your surgeon will begin by making the necessary, pre-determined incisions. Through these incisions, excess breast skin will be removed and the breasts will be lifted. Your nipple and areola may also be moved to a more youthful position. Your breast implants will then be placed through the same incisions.
Your incisions will be sutured and dressed, and you may be required to wear a special bra for the first few days. Many of our patients return to work within a week, though this depends on the nature of your job. More strenuous activity and exercise should be avoided for several weeks to ensure you heal properly and that your results are maintained.
