If you are dealing with sagging skin that has lost its natural firmness with age, you may be feeling as though the only option available to you for correcting these flaws is plastic surgery. While the team at the Plastic Surgery Center of Hampton Roads offers full and partial facelifts, this is not always the best option for each patient. Instead, our team may encourage patients to consider the benefits of alternative therapies that are far more conservative and less invasive, including that of Facetite.
What is Facetite?
Drs. Vonu, Blanchard, Zwicklbauer, and Lofgren describes Facetite as a proprietary system that is used for providing a lift of the lower face and neck to achieve a tighter, firmer appearance often associated with youthfulness. Sagging skin around the mouth, jaw, and jowls can contribute to a patient’s aged appearance, but with this minimally invasive facial rejuvenation option, patients will be able to achieve desirable results without going “under the knife!”
How does Facetite work?
Facetite works by using radio frequency energy administered through the tips of special probes, including one that slides underneath the skin via a small incision and one that slides over the skin. The areas where the radio frequency energy is administered will experience natural tightening over the course of several months. This is because the RF energy stimulates the skin’s natural process of healing, including the stimulation of collagen and elastin production. This plumps the facial skin while also tightening the underneath structure for dramatic results that occur gradually over time. This eliminates the need for many of our patients with mild to moderate skin laxity to undergo plastic surgery procedures.
