woman of the year vote
Lauren Blanchard—local hero, gotCUREage founder, and PSCHR family member—is making news for her recent nomination as Woman of the Year by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Every day Lauren inspires her local community and beyond, and she deserves to be celebrated and honored for all the ways she tirelessly contributes to finding a cure for cancer.

Lauren’s story: Not even an incurable disease can keep her down

In December of 2009, Lauren was diagnosed with a type of rare blood cancer, Essential Thrombocythemia. Though there is not a cure for this chronic illness (yet), Blanchard has been fighting for a cure ever since.

In 2012, she founded gotCUREage, a non-profit organization that helps raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and other local organizations. Each year her organization hosts the Must Dash 5K, a run/walk event that donates all proceeds to LLS. gotCUREage also sells merchandise to spread awareness and benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

“I would love nothing more than to see a CURE in my lifetime. It is my hope that gotCUREage can also be an inspiration for fellow cancer fighters, their families, friends, and anyone that is need of a CURE of any kind.”
